ALLAM PACHADI / GINGER CHUTNEY ANDHRA STYLE
Delicious and spicy Andhra style allam pachadi (ginger chutney) made with roasted lentils, ginger, chillies, tamarind and spices can be served with dosas, idlis, uttappams etc etc.. If you want to make it a bit milder you can add a little onion, grated coconut and tomato. But I prefer the strong ginger flavour and skip adding them.
Ingredients:
Ginger ...... 3 or 4 inch piece

AMLA RASAM / USIRIKAYA RASAM / NELLIKAI RASAM
Amla is a great source of Vitamin C. I am trying out many dishes with them as it is the amla season now. This is a simple rasam recipe made with amlas. I have added a little toor dal also as hubby dear does not like anything very sour. You may skip it if you want. Rasam helps in digestion also.
Ingredients:
Amlas ........... 3
Toor dal ........ 2 tbsps

PESARETTU / UPMA PESARETTU / GREEN GRAM DOSA / ANDHRA PESARETTU
Pesarettu is a popular breakfast dish from Andhra Pradesh. It is made with green moong dal batter and does not require any fermenting. BENDAKAYA PULUSU / ANDHRA STYLE TANGY OKRA CURRY
Pulusu is an authentic curry from Andhra Pradesh . It is made with a variety of vegetables in the tangy tamarind gravy with the addition of spices for flavouring. Bendakaya means bhindi in Telugu. Here is the recipe of tangy bhindi curry. It goes well with plain rice.

GINGER RASAM / INJI RASAM / ALLAM CHARU
Rasam is a dish made almost everyday in all the South Indian homes. Hence it is made with many variations. I have already posted a few of them . Today's preparation is ginger flavoured rasam. This one is specially good when you have a sore throat.
